this yarn salon is soooo fabulous..I love the decor...the ladies are very nice and interested in what you are creatively about..very refreshing...I think I going to reserve the salon for my birthday and have a knit gathering,lol...knitting and drinking what could be better...Antonio I'm sending you a ticket(U know u wanna knit and drink),lol

Just back from stitches..here is a rather fuzzy pic of some of the yarn I purchased mostly from the Haku vendors...I spent an obscene amount of money with them...they had the most unusual fibers...steel wool yarn,bamboo...metal....I"m going to start working on something tonight...I'm sooo excited... as you can probably tell by my pooche's name(Yohji) I dig Japanese culture..I thin they are some of the most innovative artist and designers..they epitomize "thinking outside the box"..I didn't spend all my money at the show...actually I had a lot of money left over because I ended up not staying at the resort...they had major problems getting the rooms ready..so I stayed with s friend who lives in chicago...now if the resort hadn't been such a drive from the city..I would have shopped another day...but all is not lost..there is always the internet,lol



Just completed a bracelet ..knitted out of fine guage wire..adorned with horn and sterling silver...

I'm off to Stitches Midwest this weekend....I will admit I'm a junkie for yarn,lol...let's just hope I don't spend all my money on the first day, don't laugh...Yall know those folks who travel to Las Vegas and lose all their money on the first day,lol...and then sit around begging and looking pitiful for the rest of the trip.......uh huh.....

I feel a Wonder Woman moment coming on.....It seems that I'm on a wristband roll..or shall I say... instant knitting gratification..I say we start an online Wonder Woman island..to gain access to the island you have to knit a wristband and trade it with another member,lol...ok now who wants to make our button logo,lol......

I'm feeling the need to evolve my "look"...what has me sooo inspired..these fierce boots right here!!! now these boots are EXPENSIVE!!..and since I don't want to blow the money I want to spend at the Stitches convention...I need to get creative..so I have come up with a way to doctor the two pair of wedge heeled boots I already own..I can knit little furry anklewarmers,lol...don't laugh..because I'm gonna do it!!..and I can wear it with a version of this I love all the hanging ribbons...I want to wear Black,Black,black this fall..with only a tiny bit of color thrown in...first up to be knitted...a chunky black sweater of my own design..the yarn for which I shall shop for at stitches in chicago...I realize that a girl just has to be true to herself...I like dressing "crazy" and it's not because I'm starving for attention,lol...but all that medicore sameness is boring....my dressing is ART...and just because I'm stranded in the midwest(for now) doesn't mean that my flow has to be MIDWEST,lol....someone great said "that it all started with an idea"...I will amend that to say "that it all started with an outfit and with that she changed her life,lol"...don't forget to tell em' LOCQUEEN said...uh huh...lol

The Dred Bag is complete....
and here is a close up.....all in all a successful first time felting project!!...I think that if I were to do another one I would make it MUCH bigger...my finished measurements..9X13...my next new project...noro kureyon felted bag ala "crafty diva"...my twist is that I'm using 4 to 5 skeins..all different BRIGHT colors and a combination of mitered square,stripes, and maybe a triangle or two...very wild and crazy,lol.....

YIPPPEEE!!!...There is a new yarn shop opening pratically at my mother's backdoor,lol...I met the owner today while visiting my mom...the new shop is called Knit Happens...it's in a house...3 levels...retail...a knitting salon,where folks can gather and have tea,coffee,or wine and knit...you can rent out the salon for private knit parties...she will have classes on the third floor...and retail rooms for finished knitted items...she was as excited to meet me as I was her,lol...I will be there for the grand opening!!..yall just don't know how funky this place is!!!,lol...in other news..I'm almost finished with the dred purse......I should be felting by thurs..I have learned to new knitting techniques with this project...3 needle bind off..and i-cords...I was trying to cheat and purchased the Magicord machine,but you can only use yarn smaller than worsted weight,lol.....the charlottes web shawl is coming along....I'm slightly pissed about the instructions..is it so hard to either give complete written instuctions or a complete chart...is that asking to much,lol...when I start writing patterns I promise you all clarity,lol...because I really hate having an attitude while I'm knitting...do u feel me,lol!!!
