I'm happy to report that my braces seem to be wrecking less havoc in my mouth now..I must have been on percodan before..because I don't recall feeling so bad,lol.....On the knitting front had to take a small break on the funky throw..to knit Yohji a new sweater( yeah I know it's summer)...but we are being photographed for the city newspaper..how did this come about you ask,lol....ok... this reporter called my vets office inquiring about owners with small dogs that are pampered,spoiled by their owners..and she said she immediately thought of me,lol....so she gave the reporter my name...she interviewed me...much laughter ensued...she said she couldn't have found someone better to interview,lol...so that's why yohji needs a new sweater.......I have almost completed one sweater out of noro's silk garden....and I think I can finish one in cotton before the photographer comes next week,lol..so I will be sure to post a link to the article when it is run....

Today's blog entry is entitled:Unattractive in cincinnati.....
Sorry no knitting news to report,lol....but I feel that I must share that today I'm feeling like a metal head....today my braces went on(for the second time)..let this be a lesson to those of you that had them or have them...WEAR YOUR RETAINER!!!!...lol...anyhoo..I was just looking in the mirror at all the silver that surrounds me....I have 9 piercings in one ear...one in the other...a teeeny tiny silver stud in my nose...and my chin(labret) piercing...and now my teeth....this is all sooooo wrong,lol...something has to go,lol.......(and no I will not be posting any pictures)...lol....(Antonio..if you leave a comment beginning with Dear unattractive in cinti...lol...I will personally cut your steeks,lol)


also I'm thinking of buying a digital camera(to document my work..the webcam is useless,lol)....any suggestions or advice would be greatly appreciated....I'm clueless as to the features I need....

Just completed my silver tinsel scarf...
a little detour before I dig into knitting the throw ....the next month will be filled with "mindless" knitting..back and forth...back and forth...........lol....unless I take another detour...do I hear the calling of my soon to be self hand dyed yarn begging to be manipulated......hmmmm

I'm sending this note to my blog homies. You're the people I've come to enjoy and appreciate in this roughly defined community of ours and it's in your virtual midst that I feel most comfortable. I have a request and I'm hoping you take up the call and carry it on your own blogs as well.

Amanda needs $800 for a car. Since hers broke down she spends damn near all day on buses taking her son, Jayden, back and forth to school. Some of you know she's been evicted from her apartment and has to be out by June 1. Here's the rub: she doesn't have time to pack because she's riding the bus all day and has a child to rear. I'm asking folks to donate via the paypal link on her website. Please give whatever you can to help raise the $800 for her by the 15th (5/15/03). Additionally, I believe it would help immensely if all of us dedicated a post on our blogs to the cause, directing folks to Amanda's site to make donations of their own.


I am of the persuasion that we can use our virtual connections to affect real change. I believe in the humanness of the web and the ability of these human connections to unearth humanity in the real world. I'm just optimistic that way. I believe we can do this.

Wow...long time no post....nothing new and exciting going on knitwise....the throw I mentioned below is going to take more than a minute to complete,lol....I feel so much pressure to complete special orders,that's why I rather not take them .....in a perfect world, I could just buzz along creating what I want...and then folks could buy it,lol....someday....there is soooo much I want to knit....I would like to do some funky dog sweaters(to sale)..and more cool scarfs(not so much with the novetly yarns) but with some interesting stitches... and I have some ideas for some funky pillows...and on top of all that I still must master my knitting machine...I was prerusing one of my many japanese design books today...and I got this idea for a very avant garde knit top....so after I complete the throw..yada,yada,yada,lol....but in the meantime..I went out and purchased some funky camouflage fabric to make myself a kimono and I found this ole school fabric for the obi....delightful!!!....I'm reworking my "look"..the result of being utterly bored with the "nati"...also lately I have been seriously considering adding another pooch to the family....maybe a yorkie (female) or a chinese crested(female)(biting off the fabulous ANTONIO(earthaknit)!!) they are both hella cute!!...and I'm aware that this decision when be sending me back to the doggie behaivorist with Yohji(and yes I have paid a professional to tell me that my dog was suffering from an elevated sense of self because he was traveling everywhere with me is his very expensive bag(check out www.park avenue paws)...I have friends who say that when they die they want to come back as my dog(I treat a pooch right,lol)....next week yohji starts doggie daycare(yes, I'm serious) for one or two days a week( he needs to work on his doggie social skills) and I need a break from his constant adoration and love,lol...remember that I'm self-employed..so yohji gets to hang with me 24 hrs a day,lol....so while I'm grooming locs...he makes a point of jumping on everyones lap that sits under the dryer,lol....so off to hang with the other canines....but I have a feeling that when he returns home that evening he is going to be smelling really bad and that I will have to shampoo and blow dry .....a mama's work never ends...lol
