I'm having a hard time getting the image size right from digital camera to webpage..I seem to have misplaced my instruction manual..it will turn up eventually but in the meantime..if anyone can tell me what pixel or dimension to plug in I would greatly appreciate it,lol

My New Work in Progress....is this sweater coat

I cast on last night and I'm loving this yarn and the texture that is created when knitted it is knit with size 15 needles so it is moving along...hopefully I will be able to post pics tomorrow(I'm getting help with my digital camera software)

I'm finally inspired to knit my legwarmers(or ankle warmers)...there'e a legwarmer knitalong going on via... emdash
...I'm inspired by this boot...I will be using marabou with some Berroco softwist bulky...this should be funky...I finished my sweater...did the no sew steeks..and bought buttons..I still need to sew in the ends...My digital camera arrived yesterday...I was able to put in the batteries and that card thingy(with some assitance,lol) I have yet to manage to save a pic,lol...so as soon I'm able to comprehend..I will post pics

Almost finish with my top-down raglan sweater(Glampyre's pattern)....I made the sleeves wider for a Kimono effect..this pic is pre-cardigan...hopefully I will be cutting it open with the no-sew steeks method today!!Yeah!!!...this was a cool sweater to knit for my first completed project for myself,lol...For my birthday last week(11/11) I purchased a digital camera(from Gateway) so I can stop being sooo bootleg by taking pics with my webcam(see a sista will get creative),lol..I also purchased a new pair of eyeglasses..they are very funky..so as soon as that camera arrives..and I go across the hall to my neighbor the photographer and he will show me how to use it(cause yall know I'm soo not reading the directions,lol) then I will become a picture taking fool....lol!!!


New music news...Don't sleep on Floerty's Live CD "Floacism"..it comes with a dvd of a live concert performance....I love them!!!

It seems it's all about the cable...


and found this to be rather interesting it's knitted then goldleaf is applied for a crackle effect..


Last nite I was invited to the Ballet and to an AMFAR Benefit(local designers decorated tabletops) by the lady that owns my new LYS...she sent a driver in a Lincoln towncar to pick me up(I could get sooo use to that)..anywhoo..we decided to skip the first two dance movements to have drinks at Bellas(very cool bar) on the advice of someone who saw the performance the nite before(we shouldn't have listened)they said the first two acts were boring...it wasn't...after she wanted food(from a very expensive restaraunt)...at this point I realize that I have been kidnapped..and that I wouldn't be seeing my pooch(Yohji) anytime soon,lol...so off we went..I had a wonderful time..met some cool people and drank ALOT(Antonio u would have been proud!!)...and of course I woke up feeling sooo unholistic like...so off to breakfast with my pooch to my girlfriends coffeehouse for waffles...and a specially prepared egg for Yohji(that dog is sooo spoiled....but he made mama proud..he was better behaved than the kids present,lol...I have totally digressed..this post is about cables...having drinks last nite we discussed cashmere and cables..she wants a cable scarf out of cashmere..and I want a throw...I think that I have come full circle with this post....lol

Ok I just came back from watching the Matrix Resolution...Now I know that I can't be the only obsessed knitter who notices the sweaters folks wear on screen,lol...I found myself wonderinig if the holey sweaters they were wearing were made out of cotton,or ramie,lol..and also wondering how they made the holes..because they didn't look like yarn overs, and how did they control the runs,lol...so I wanna know do any of yall notice knitwear in movies...my fave so far has been the sweater Samuel L Jackson wore in Formula 51(he was wearing a Kilt throughout the movie as well)...some kind of diagonal cables..just fabulous!!!lol


Ok..faithful bloggers...can you name some good knitwear Movies....Ms Glampyre once mentioned Gosford park..I rented it..but I didn't notice any sweaters....so let me hear your observations!!!

I went to Threadbearfiberarts studio on sun for there grand opening...Ihad a wondeful time annndd.I purchased this..
for my ramblin rows afgan..colors are green,cream,grey tan,rust brown...Matt has this great program that allows you to see the different configurations of the block....so this afgan will look very retro..presently I'm trying to finish my top down raglan cardigan out of noro before I relly get into knitting the afgan...also at threadbear on sun I won a great door prize..the Norsk Strikkedesign book and a kit to knit one of the designs inside..I guess a girl has to learn intarsia sometime...lol

I won 2 bags of noro Cash iroha on ebay..color 74...now the color looked great on my monitor...but after it arrived..I wasn't thrilled with the shade(I know..I'm really picky about color,lol)..so I over-dyed it!!..I called Rob at Threadbear first to see If I should forsee any problems(he wasn't encouraging,lol)...so I did it anyway,lol..I used an acid dye(Kelly green)...
and here is the result....I love this shade of green soooo much better!!..here are more examples of my expermentation with dyeing...


Remember this from my sept 16 entry..it is now a lovely deep red shade...

Work in Progress...Top Down Raglan(courtesty of Glampyre's site)..that I will cardiganize,lol...I'm using some noro silk garden I won on Ebay(but I will need to buy extra from the fellas at Threadbear)..I'm not in love with the colorway..but this is a learning experience,lol...

Lately I have been feeling very experimental...I have knitted/crocheted some shapes..and then felted them to see what would happen....they all started out as freeform scarfs...but once felted..they became surprisingly sculptural..I have them hanging from the ceiling now...as soon as I get a camera I will post some picks..I think this idea is one worth exploring further...I received from Amazon..the book "It's my party and I will knit if I want to" by Sharon Aris...it's a cute read about the whole knitting explosion and the politics that it entails...lol...now I don't know about the rest of yall knitting/fiber obsessed folks....but I find the more I get into knitting the less healthy I feel,lol..I have decided that from now on...that I will only be allowed to knit..after I have engaged in some form of physical activity..albeit aerobic or weight lifting for 30 min...If I don't do the physical stuff then I can't pick up the needles....I mad serious yall,lol....this situation warrants drastic measures!!!lol
Today I walked 1 mile in the park with Yohji ..then I popped a "Firm" weight lifting tape into the vcr...now I'm free to knit...lol

TALK ABOUT MULTI-TASKING!!!.....While listening to Erykah Badu and watching Oprah interview Madonna .I whipped this up.. a scarf..with the intentions of felting and dyeing it...but after playing show and tell with the creative folks on my floor..the vote was to leave as is...I have to admit it is rather funky and very freeform...sort of a wicked stole...


was not totally pleased with the results of yohji's painted sweater below..so I overdyed it..with very artful results...now I'm pleased..lol

Feeling Experimental....I knitted up a dog sweater in white cotton......
and then I painted the finished garment....

ooooh the possibilities,lol...lately I have been into dyeing fibers...one of my recent faves a cotton yarn in "rasta" colorations...red,gold and green....Yohji's going to be sooo styling this winter...I'm suppose to be knitting dog sweaters to sell..but it's hard to let them go because Yohji looks sooo fly in them,lol...

Detour #2....I completed this boa today...pink and black..this will be displayed in my new fave yarn shop..Knit Happens...they dig all things "girly"..and this should fit right in...ok now I need to work on one of my many works in progress,lol...I have sooo many ideas.and not enough time to work on them...I need to find some Foundation that will pay me and all my living expenses...while I sit back and create,lol...I know there must be some wealthy folks in need of a tax break,lol...

Detour...I completed a hat today...I was inspired by a suit Donna Karan designed......Tweed with sequins on scattered on the surface..my take on that...a black tweed yarn..with a silver sequin yarn over top.....

Today I visited my new fave knit shop..KNit Happens...and was offered a part time job.....I'm thinking about working my off days(well not the whole day,lol)...they asked if I would be interested in teaching classes..I have no idea what I could teach,lol...I just do it...and I'm sure I'm not techically correct..but I guess teaching others would force me to be....
